1947 Luther R. Ault

Luther R. Ault
Born March 30, 1892, at Corryton, Know County, Tennessee,
the son of Alfred Leon and Jona Rutherford Ault.
He was educated in the public schools of Know County and
the Dayton Engineering Laboratories Company of Dayton Ohio,
He was married on January 4, 1916, to Miss Grace Childs,
at Corryton, Tennessee
He was in business for a number of years at Knoxville,
moving to Johnson City in 1925, and for a number of
years he operated the Automotive Electric Co., in that city.
He is now a representative of the Investors Syndicate Inc.,
of Minneapolis, Minn.
He has been a member of the Methodist Church at Corryton
for many years, and is past President of the Bible Class
of the Methodist Sunday School at Johnson City.
He was raised on January 28, 1921, in Graveston Lodge No. 321
(now Corryton No. 321), at Corryton, and served as its
Worshipful Master in 1923. He transferred his membership to
Johnson City Lodge No. 486, at Johnson City, on December 6, 1927
He was exalted on October 27, 1921, in Paxton Chapter No. 184,
Knoxville, and transferred his membership to
Thomas E Matson Chapter No. 131 at Johnson City on September 13, 1927,
serving as its High Priest in 1930 He was anointed in the Holy Order
of High Priesthood at Nashville on January 28, 1930.
He was greeted on March 16, 1922 in Knoxville Council No. 75, Knoxville,
affiliated with Holston Council No. 101 in 1931 as a charter member,
and served as its Thrice Illustrious Master in 1933.
He was one of the organizers of the Tennessee Council
Thrice Illustrious Masters (order of the Silver Trowel),
and served as its first T.I.M. in 1940.
He was knighted on February 11, 1926, in Watauga Commandery No. 25,
at Johnson City, and served as its Commander from April 1930 to April 1931.
He was one of the organizers and it Past prior (1st Prior) of
Tennessee Priory No. 15, K.Y.C.H.
He was initiated in Kerbela Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S., at Knoxville on May 30, 1927
He was initiated into the Eastern Star October 7, 1938, served as Worthy Patron 1943.
He received the Scottish Rite degrees at Nashville in May 1943, and
became a charter member of the Knoxville Bodies in 1945.
He was elected Grand Steward of the Grand Council on January 28, 1935,
advancing each year thereafter, and was elected M.I. Grand Master on January 23, 1939
In the Grand Commandery he was appointed Grand Inspector for East Tennessee
on April 10, 1940. On April 16, 1941, he was elected Grand Standard Bearer,
advancing each year thereafter, and was elected R.E. Grand Commander on April 30, 1947.
